The bar chart presents data on how often people in the USA ate at fast food restaurants in 2003, 2006, and 2013.
Overall, the most common frequencies were eating fast food once a week or once or twice a month, while other categories accounted for smaller proportions and only showed minor fluctuations.
Looking at the most frequent eating patterns, in 2003, just over 30% of American consumers dined at fast food restaurants once a week, slightly higher than the figure for those who ate once or twice a month (30%). The former increased marginally to around 33% in 2006, before it dropped to approximately 28% in 2013. Similarly, the latter also experienced fluctuations, falling to roughly 25% in 2006 and then peaking at about 33% in the final year.
Regarding the remaining categories, in 2003, around 16% of people dined at fast food restaurants several times a week, while about 13% did so only a few times a year. The first group rose to nearly 20% in 2006 before dropping back to about 15% in 2013, while the second group remained relatively stable at around 14-15% throughout the period. The proportion of daily consumers and those who never ate fast food in the USA remained consistently low at around 3-4% across all three years.
