The capability of an individual to translate knowledge into action is known as skill. It is not necessarily iron. In can be developed through practice and through relating learning to one own personal experience and background skills of manager. Technical skills refer to the ability to carry out a specific activity, which may involve the use of tools, equipment, procedures, and knowledge of a specialised field. It is concerned with the ways of doing the things. Technical skills are most important for the first level managers as much of their time is devoted in training cand clarifying the doubts of subordinates. Effective supervision and coordination depend on the technical skill possessed by the lower-level manager. Any supervisor without a sound knowledge of technical skills cannot be an effective supervisor. Human skills or interpersonal skills are primarily concerned with persons. It is the ability of a person to work well with others in a group. It is concerned with the understanding and awareness of own attitudes, assumption, and beliefs.      
As the view points and feelings are different from each other, these skills involve understanding why people behave as they do. Conceptual Skills. It is the understanding of various components of an organisation that related to one another and associate the organisation with external environment. It involves the ability to understand how the various parts and function of an organisation mesh together and how changes in any one of organisation mesh together and how changes in any one of these may affect all the others. A high degree of conceptual skill helps in amazing the environment and in identify the opportunities and threats. Management job always requires all the three skills, but in different proportions, depending upon the level of management. Technical skills and human skills are always in great demand at the lower level of management. The need for conceptual skill is greatest at the top level of management Further, management development programes help in acquiring and developing different types of managerial skills and knowledge, such as the one given below. Decision making skills. The main job of a manager is to make both strategic and routine decisions. His ability to take effective decisions can be enhanced by developing decision making skills through various techniques, for example case study metho.  
This is a training method that employs simulated business problems for trainees to solve. The individual is expected to study the information given in the case and make decisions based on the situation. If the student is provided a case involving an actual company, he is expected to research the firm to gain a better appreciation of its financial condition and corporate culture. Typically, the, cases method is used in the class room with an instructor who serves as a facilitator.
