JPC's demand happened as expected; the second phase of the budget session of Parliament started with uproar. Congress and other opposition parties did not allow Parliament to function demanding an investigation into the Adani case by a Joint Parliamentary Committee or JPC. Congress also demonstrated in many cities regarding this demand. Jaipur is also included in these cities. Not long ago, Adani Group chief Gautam Adani participated in the investor conference held in Jaipur and announced an investment of sixty thousand crore rupees in Rajasthan. His announcement was welcomed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot himself. If Congress has so much trouble with the Adani Group, then wouldn't it be appropriate for it to oust it from the states it rules? As far as the demand for formation of a joint parliamentary committee in the context of the report of American research firm Bachenberg on the functioning of Adani Group is not justified because the Supreme Court has constituted a six-member committee. This committee is being headed by a former judge of the Supreme Court. It should be noted that till some time ago the opposition was demanding that the Adani case should be investigated either by a joint parliamentary committee or under the supervision of the Supreme Court. It is clear that the Supreme Court has fulfilled the demand of the opposition by constituting a six-member inquiry committee. Even after the Supreme Court has formed a committee, the opposition's demand for constituting a joint parliamentary committee is only going to divert the country's attention and waste time. The members included in the committee constituted by the Supreme Court are experts in financial matters and have in-depth knowledge of the corporate world as well as the stock market. Whatever the opposition leaders may claim, they cannot have the same expertise as the Supreme Court committee members. There is also a fact that in all the cases related to the stock market that have been investigated by the JPC till now, there has been either cover-up or party politics in the name of investigation. Due to this, no concrete conclusion could be reached. The experience of investigation of any case by Joint Parliamentary Committees has not been such that it can be said that they are successful in turning milk out of milk and water out of water. Any case should be investigated only by those who are experts in that subject. In the context of the committee constituted by the Supreme Court, the fact should not be ignored that the apex court has constituted it of its own free will.
