The Jim Corbett National Sanctuary, encompassing the immense forest wealth of nature, has been built by enclosing a vast area near the city of Ramnagar in Nainital district of Uttaranchal state. It is spread over an area of about 1316 square kilometer on the banks of Ramganga river between Garhwal and Kumaon. The main office of this park is in Ramnagar and tourists enter this park with a permit from here. When tourists enter the park through the eastern gate, small rivers, streams, shady trees of shawls and an unknown fragrance of flowers and plants fascinate them. The tourist feels hypnotized in this natural beauty.
The tourism department makes arrangements for lodging and visits in the park in the sanctuary. There is a lodge, canteen and library inside the park. The residences of the garden workers are also here. Many books related to wildlife are kept in the library. Animal-bird lovers sit here and study for hours. There are wooden scaffolds in front of the lodges here, In which it is climbed by wooden stairs and there is an arrangement of chairs for sitting. In the evening, tourists can sit here and watch the natural beauty spread far and wide and wild animals roaming freely in the sanctuary. Tourists can come here and enjoy the natural beauty. Yes, the forest guards are instructed not to stay out till late in the night nor to leave the rooms during the night. Similar instructions are also written here at various places. The reason for this is that sometimes during the night, herds of wild elephants or some dreaded wild animals come here. The sanctuary can be visited only by riding in elephants, as the noise of motor vehicles disturbs the wildlife. Elephants are available to tourists from the lounge itself. Sitting in elephants, tourists pass through high and low forest trails, tall grass and shawl trees. Here, not only lions and tigers, herds of elephants, groups of deer filling the knuckles, small rivers and streams, the song of the springs, the noise of the strong current of the Ramganga river, the dense shade of the shawl trees and the silence of the dense forest, everything in itself. is unique. Amidst the dense forest on both sides of the Ramganga river, this sanctuary spreads a unique shade of nature.
