You have probably heard of the Bible. Most people are fortunate enough to have heard of this wonderful book, and even have read some or all of it, and have one of their own. In it is the story of creation, how God created Adam, and all the animals, tress and all of nature. Adam was all alone, with no helper, no one to share this wonderful life with. So God put Adam into a great sleep and as Adam slept peacefully, God took out one of Adam's ribs. From that rib, God made women. Adam called her Eve. She was his wife. His help mate. God told Adam and Eve they could live a wonderful life together in the Garden of Eden. He told them to be fruitful and multiply. The only rule God gave Adam and Eve was not to eat the fruit that grew on the Tree of Life. That doesn't seem so hard right? It's one tree that they couldn't eat from. There were hundreds of other trees with amazing fruit they could eat all they wanted of. One rule God gave them. That was all. So all was good for a little while. Then one day Eve was in the Garden, and the serpent of the devil came to her. A snake. He spoke to her. He asked why she wasn't eating the delicious fruit from the Tree of Life. She told him that, that was God's one rule. That they could have anything they wanted, save the fruit from the Tree of Life. Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. That they could not have. So the sneaky ol serpent told her to eat from the tree. To have just a taste. That it would be alright. That surly God didn't really want to deny Adam and Eve of the most delicious fruit in all of the Garden of Eden. Eve tried to resist, but the evil devil was persistent. He told her to just have a taste, and take some to her husband Adam, and tell him how good the fruit was, and have him try it also. Adam did eat of the fruit. Then God appeared to Adam and Eve. So Adam and Eve both took leaves and covered themselves with them, so that God would not see them naked. God asked Adam and Eve why were they covering themselves? They answered that they did not want God to see them naked. God asked how they knew they were naked. They were silent. God said, "you ate the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Life that I forbid you to eat from didn't you?" Adam spoke and told God, "The women was tempted by the serpent, she ate of the forbidden fruit, and brought also some to me, and I did eat." God said you had one rule, and I gave you so much, yet you still sinned against me. You will now be banished from the Garden of Eden forever. You will have to work hard and brake your back to provide for your family, as will all men." He turned to Eve and told her that she would also be punished. You will suffer great pain to bring new life into the world. Giving birth will be an awful pain, but you will have to do it. As will all women for all time." The Old Testament of the Bible for tales the first coming of Jesus, and lets us know that there will be a Savior, and He would rid the world of the sin that separates us from God, because of Adam and Eve's first sin in the Garden of Eden.
