The specific causes of neutropenia includes chemotherapy, chronic idiopathic neutropenia in adults, Kostmann's syndrome, Leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, myelofibrosis, Myelokathexis, Radiation therapy and vitamin deficiencies. Certain infections which cause neutropenia include Hepatitis A, B, C, AIDS, Malaria, Lyme disease, Salmonella infection, Sepsis, Hypersplenism and Rheumatoid arthritis and other immune disorders.
