Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was a great patriot and brave freedom fighter of India. He was a symbol of self-respect and passionate patriotism. Every Indian child must know about them and their work done for the freedom of India. He was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha into a Hindu family. His early education was completed in his hometown while he did his matriculation from Presidency College, Calcutta and graduated in Philosophy from the Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta. He later went to England and passed the Indian Civil Service examination with fourth place.
He was deeply saddened by the pitiable condition of his countrymen due to the cruel and bad treatment of the British. Instead of civil service, he decided to join the national movement to help the people of India through India's independence. Netaji was greatly influenced by the patriot Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das and later Bose was elected as the Mayor of Calcutta and then President of the Indian National Congress. Later, he left the party due to ideological differences with Gandhiji. After leaving the Congress party, he founded his forward block party.
He believed that non-violence movement is not enough to get independence from the British, so chose the violent movement for the independence of the country. Netaji went away from India to Germany and then to Japan where he formed his Indian National Army, 'Azad Hind Fauj'. He included Indian residents and Indian prisoners of war in his free Indian army to fight the British rule bravely. Subhash Chandra Bose inspired his soldiers with his great words of "Give me blood, I will give you freedom" to free our motherland from the British rule.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is believed to have died in a plane accident in 1945. All hopes of his Indian National Army to fight the British rule had ended with bad news of his death. Even after his death, he is still alive with his zealous nationality in the hearts of Indian people as a never ending inspiration. According to scientific views, he died of a third degree burn due to an overloaded Japanese plane crash. Netaji's great work and contribution in Indian history will be marked as an unforgettable account.
