After the abrogation of article 370 ladakh was granted union territory which was there demand from 50 years ago and that hope was finally fulfilled on 5th august 2019 . But ladakhis are still not happy with the decision because there promised was half fulfilled, they did't gave ut with legislature like Jammu and kashmir. Now the ladakhis are in fear of there secruities for job,land,culture which was earlier provided in article 370.The upcoming of appointed governor which is above the people representative Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) have made fear in locals that a non-ladakhi will rule ladakh like wise in before when zorawar singh ruled ladakh. Ladakh demand for 6th schedule is a genuine demand because as per the law stated in constitution if a tribal population in a specific area is more than 50% then it will be granted 6th schedule to protect their identity,culture and land. As of ladakh the tribal population is ladakh is 98%.The Centre govt is not doing anything for the people of ladakh as people have given there whole life to it be in the 1997 kargil war, or in the ongoing tussle with china the ladakhis have always supported india not like kashmir who stone pelting on indian soldier when they come the protect the land from outsiders.The Govt must taken action on protecting the indigenous people of ladakh as it is very fragile ecosystem of ladakh which hold only limited population and the people of ladakh are solely dependent on its glacier water and at times of tourist season when there is heavy influx of tourist in ladakh every year makes double the population visit ladakh which not only explore ladakh but leave behind plastic trails behind them. Due to the global warming the glacier are melting on a high speed and not lasting till the end of summer which makes scarcity of water mostly to the farmers which is most population of ladakh occupation. If there is no safeguards to the people of ladakh then there will be heavy migration of population in ladakh in search of job and the locals can't compete with the outsider because the education in ladakh have came very late and also the land in ladakh are cheap as compare to mainland. Due to ladakh as hotspot tourist destination there will be heavy influx of businessman in search of making profits in tourism and making difficult for the locals to compete with the rich businessman of mainland india.So government should consider granting sixth schedule to ladakh in this monsoon session without making any delay and protect the people of ladakh from ongoing discrimination as soon as possible jai hind.
