Cheaters
Re: Cheaters
Thank you for the extra info, I banned him. Chris will check.
It's certainly possible to greatly improve the software but it would take a lot of time and Chris is currently focused on the practice mode.
And yes, a minimum number of test prior to competition would be welcome. Should perhaps do this for each language. But it can't stop cheating, just slow a little. However it would be an additional point of comparison in results.
See details of each try of each participant in competitions could also be useful.

Re: Cheaters
Far too often the users starting off with competitions and high scores are cheaters.
Some are not banned until doing a lot of damage, while others just stop and are never
detected and banned. User 239656 that won an English competition with 162 WPM,
has now taken a test that shows 82 WPM. Logged here:

Re: Cheaters
Edit:
The user in this post was not suspected of cheating. The question was why "competitions taken"
showed 1(1), while nothing was registered under "recent competitions". The likely answer is that
private competitions do not appear in the profile.
This raised another question: Since a winning private competition implies at least five participants,
why wasn't any of the "friendly fire" badges unlocked in the user profile? The likely answer is that there
are problems with this function, and the "friendly fire" badges might not unlock, even though they should.
Case closed.

Re: Cheaters
This is normal, private competitions don't appear in the list of the last 10.
