So I've been typing for a while, going from key pecking as a 5-8 year old to touch typing at 11, and since then I've consistently improved up until this point. For the past 2 or so years, I've registered to a few competitive typing communities to break my little 120 wpm barrier, and I've definitely gotten better on the average, but it's really only went from 105 wpm to 115 wpm average, reaching a high of 126 wpm. My question is, how would I go about reaching a wpm of above 130. I've tried several different habits and techniques, like using caps locks for certain scenarios, different key placement, and typing a key with another hand if it's preoccupied, and I've never gotten much past 120, 124 average on a good day. What are some tips and tricks some faster typists on here could give for someone like me to get past 130 wpm?

You are at a super elite level and even if faster typists told you their secrets, it might not help you. Besides knowing the keyboard completely and using the right fingering and finger movements, you in my opinion also have to have great reaction time and an uncanny knack for always hitting the right keys.

Well. I don't think there is any special / magic / OP method that could help improve your speed, once you got passed the 120WPM level.
I mean, as toddhicks said, you are part of the fastest typist in the world (yes, you are), so...

But, even if there is, according to me, no magic way of practicing, you still can be faster and faster : just practice !

In 2012, I was extremely happy when I managed to reach 120. Nowadays, my best score is 180, and I'm kinda sad when I go below 160. Did i do anything special between 2012 and 2016 ? No ! I just praticed, a lot, a lot, a lot, and a lot... (Which made an improvement of 10WPM/year in average so far) Whenever I had free time, I turned on 10FF and kept practicing until my fingers were tired or until I got bored.

I am trying to break above the 30 WPM mark. So far it has been a real struggle. Any ideas? Maybe I am doing something wrong?

I have been trying to learn touch-typing on QWERTY for 2 years now and not much of a result. I used to use Colemak but decided to get back to QWERTY to be able to type on any machine. So far I am making loads of mistakes... BACKSPACE is my only muscle memory.
